Who, after 10 years in retail and 5 kids, decided to make haircuts fun.
"I know the pitfalls of a bad haircut. One bad experience can lead to years of tears at the mention of a it. I started writing this business plan when 4 of my kids were under 4 years old and taking them to get a haircut was tough on all of us. Dooz is unlike anything out there and our plan is to show kids that haircuts can be fun.” Tapping into her years of experience as a merchandiser for The Gap/Old Navy and Eddie Bauer really helped shape the Dooz brand and her plans for the future which includes more stores and private label products.
Lori, hopes to Wow everyone. “I hope the Wow gets them to come once and the whole Dooz experience during a haircut, buying a gift, or attending one of our birthday parties brings them back.”
Aimed at kids ages 2-14 Dooz has an ambitious plan to coif the kids of Mercer Island, Bellevue and Seattle. “Our goal is to be a premier salon that offers an amazing, interactive experience for kids and adults alike.” That starts with diversions that are clean and interesting for the kids. Dooz offers an interior that changes color, televisions hidden behind the mirrors, i-spy tables, find-it games and lots more. The Stylists all have ‘kid cut’ experience and are trained on new trends and styles. Followed up with services like ‘gifts to go’ featuring curbside delivery of wrapped gifts ordered by phone for birthdays or baby showers; and a host of themed parties for girls and boys.
